printing

Olli is about to graduate. He has 9 weeks left and I am helping him out with printing by being his assistant. I started putting paper on the printing base and then moved up to cleaning all the tools till yesterday I was entrusted with cleaning the screen. Here is my sketch of people setting up their screens.

Pub visits

I find drawing easier if I do it in public. I know most people don't but it also makes me stop being so lazy and all the movement around you inspires you to draw. At work we have had pub visits once a month now all over London in different pubs. People go there early afternoon and start drinking, eating and merry making. I sit and draw so here are some examples. First one is from a pub in North London and the other one is Samir and Rory in Greenwich.

Wilton's Music Hall

Emma and I had a lovely day of drawing at Wilton's Music Hall. To be honest it is impossible to find but it is well worth going. From the outside you couldn't tell it used to be one of the grandest music halls in London. It is one of the oldest grand music halls in the world. They had a painting exhibition so we went in and started sketching ourselves. Here are two sketches of the stage but I hadn't drawn for a while so it took me couple of hours to loosen up. Emma talked to everyone who was there and tried to convince the artist to let us see his "secret rooms" which she is obsessed about. In the end she made a deal that was pretty much" I'll show you mine ( Rio Cinema) if you will show me yours ( Wilton's Music Hall)." Sadly, I had to go to work so I don't know if her clever plan worked. They are having an open day at the Hall on the 29th so if you are in London you should definitely go. Look at their website: http://www.wiltons.org.uk/

Visit to Grant Museum

Emma S and I have been meeting up and drawing together. We went to Grant museum on the 23 of February. It is part of LSE and it is based in Euston. It is a tiny museum, pretty much one room but you can see all sorts of animal remains like I have drawn here. Also if you nicely ask a member of staff they will bring out specimens and you can draw them from close up. I have heard the Hunterian Museum is similar but has been made more presentable. I'm sure we will go there as well.

illustration work

Here are some more sketchbook work from January till now.

Sketchbook work

Hey!

So I wanted to show some sketchbook work I have been doing since applying for the Royal College of Arts in January. Hopefully this week I hear if I got in. I started to draw everyday. But now 3 months later I have gotten other porjects to work on so my drawing has not been so consistent. I was hoping putting it up and showing others might inspire me to keep my drawing up. I have used it as physio therapy to work through the pain but also get my hand get used to drawing again after a considarable 9 month break.
